14 years ago Riqba’s father married while working in the brick kilns so Riqba and her siblings were all born in slavery. My friend Shahzad wrote to me that he recommended this family to be freed from slavery because this is one of the poorest families at brick kilns. He said, “ life is terrible in poverty and hardships of slavery while owner is so harsh.”
Riqbah was so happy to be free that she said, “I was desirous to go to school and to get education now I will read books and will become a school teacher. And I will teach brick kiln children who cannot go to school”.
